ONYX Hospitality Group Collaborates with Environmental and Social Foundation (ESF) and World Wildlife Fund (WWF Thailand) to Introduce Environmental Education Tour across Nine Provinces in Thailand
ONYX Hospitality Group, led by Mr. Yuthachai Charanachitta, Chief Executive Officer, has partnered with Youth Wildlife Guardian (YWG), Environmental and Social Foundation (ESF), and World Wildlife Fund (WWF Thailand) to jointly host a press conference inaugurating a significant. The Environmental Education Tour, a mobile educational initiative, will traverse nine provinces in Thailand to enlighten and engage young individuals. The launch event will take place at the Grand Ballroom of the Amari Watergate Hotel in Bangkok on World Environment Day, 5th June 2023.
The Environmental Education Tour is a knowledge caravan project meticulously designed to empower youth by raising awareness and providing them with environmental education. Experts will conduct training activities and hands-on experiences in each area while integrating self-learning opportunities through Virtual Reality (VR) technology. The caravan, fully equipped with VR equipment, will visit key provinces including Bangkok, Surat Thani, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chonburi, Phuket, Krabi, Chaiyaphum, Buriram and Lampang. The tour will feature engaging activities organized in collaboration with ONYX Hospitality Group’s hotels in each location, including Amari, OZO, and Shama. This collaborative effort ensures the resounding success of the learning experience.
The Environmental Education Tour will run continuously from June to February 2024, encompassing four intriguing topics: endangered animals and ecology, climate change, sustainable production and consumption, and the preservation of clean seas. These subjects will be examined through the perspective of the Youth Wildlife Guardians (YWG), a dedicated group of young individuals who have undergone extensive training and mentorship under the guidance of the Environmental and Social Foundation (ESF). Over the past two years, this youth group has exemplified an understanding of the profound impact of human actions on natural resources and the environment. The goal is to disseminate this awareness among young people across Thailand. Captivating documentaries, such as “The Story of the Leatherback” is an account by Por-Prin Uthaisangchai, a 12-year-old boy, highlighting the Leatherback Sea Turtle, which happens to be the largest turtle species on Earth. Por has dedicated six years of his life to closely monitoring the status and journey of these remarkable creatures in Thailand. The narrative sheds light on their dwindling population, the challenges they face, and the urgent need to protect the sanctuary where they are born, ensuring they have a safe haven to return to for egg-laying. Por fervently emphasizes the importance of collective efforts, stating, “If all of us do our best, we will be able to preserve their home…our home.” will be showcased. Additionally, more than ten captivating documentaries will cover diverse subjects, including In Search of Dugong, Nudibranch, Tale of Tiger Tail, Whale Shark, Leopard Shark, Save the Eastern Sarus Crane, Rare Sea Creatures, The Biodiversity in Coral reef, Coral Diversity, Poisonous Sea Creatures, The Abundant Mammals of the Mangrove Forest, Birds in the Mangrove, Blacktip Reef Shark, Starfish, Chinese Water Dragon, Damselfish, Barrel Sponge, Marine National Park and Pufferfish.
