Moreover, the group has a further 10 properties in the pipeline, with 9 slated to make their grand debut in 2024. The room nights from UK travellers in the portfolio have not only surpassed 2019 levels but have seen an impressive 13% increase compared to that year. In comparison to 2022, the growth is even more remarkable, with a staggering 72.4% increase. One notable highlight is the outstanding performance of the serviced apartment brand, Shama. In 2022, Shama experienced remarkable growth, with a remarkable increase of 126.81% compared to the previous year. When compared to 2019, the growth is even more striking, with a staggering 157.71% increase. Among ONYX’s destinations, Bangkok stands out with a remarkable 60% growth compared to 2022, surpassing even the figures from 2019.
ONYX is well-known and regarded in the UK market for its high-quality beach destination resorts, which appeal to families, couples and groups of friends for romantic retreats, luxury breaks and family vacations. In addition, the portfolio in Thailand as a whole, has experienced substantial growth, with an overall increase of 18.26%. While ONYX’s footprint extends globally, its primary geographical focus for growth is Southeast Asia, particularly in the vibrant markets of Thailand and Malaysia.
